Selection Process

Candidates will be evaluated for admission to graduate program in microbiology through a selective process, disclosed in the form of an announcement, which shall include:

I- Written proof of knowledge in general microbiology and specific knowledge in the desired line of research, according to points indicated in the selection notice, with weight three (3) and of eliminatory and classificatory character;

II- Proof of knowledge in English, consisting of evaluation of analysis and comprehension of written text, with weight one (1) and of a eliminatory and classificatory character;

III- Evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae, with weight three (3) and of a eliminatory and classificatory character;

IV-Defense and interview on the preliminary draft master dissertation, with weight three (3) and of eliminatory and classificatory character.

§ 1-the approval in the written test of knowledge, in the test of knowledge in English, in the evaluation of the Curriculum Vitae and in defense and interview on the preliminary draft of Master's dissertation will be by note greater than or equal to 5.0 (five).

§ 2-the analysis of the Curriculum Vitae will be performed by Barema, previously disclosed along with the selection notice;

§ 3-The interview and defense of the preliminary draft master's thesis will be through an examiner by examining board composed of two internal members to PGMicro and an external member to PGMicro, comprising a total of 30 (thirty) minutes for each candidate.

§ 4-The presence of the other candidates will be prohibited during the defense of the preliminary research project.

§ 5-for the definition of the applicant's final note, the weighted average of the abovementioned assessments shall be used with the respective weights.

§ 7-for the approval in the selective process of the postgraduate program in microbiology, candidates should obtain a final score higher than or equal to 5.0 (five).

§ 8-The disclosure of the results will be by order of classification and shall serve as a criterion for the distribution of scholarships linked to the program.

§ 9-to establish tie-breaker criteria, it will be considered in this order: note in the written test of knowledge, note in the analysis of the curriculum vitae and note in the evaluation of the preliminary draft of Master's thesis.

§ 10-resources will be admitted and will be decided by the collegiate of PGMicro after consultation with the selection committee.
